However, in the last months several interesting articles have been published describing new information about agents working in the growth plate, like our familiar fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3). I will be bringing relevant information as I tackle these papers.
Notwithstanding, I want to start talking about a short series with four articles just published in Journal of Molecular Endocrinology (JME) focusing in the growth plate development and regulation, in the FGF-FGFR signaling pathway in bone development and genetic conditions and in other two aspects of the growth plate regulation.
In the context of FGFR3-related chondrodysplasias, JME has published two reviews and an editorial that I list just below here.
These texts are access free and contain rich information about the current knowledge of the growth plate physiology and of the FGFR3 signaling relevance for bone growth.
Both Lui et al. and Xie et al. mention the current potential therapies for achondroplasia under development right now. the authors are top experts in the subjects and have been publishing studies for many years.
The articles are very technical though but, if you have previously paid a visit to this blog, you will see that all potential therapies mentioned in these articles have already been reviewed here.
So if you think the JME reviews are hard to digest you could try a view of the blog's articles exploring the same topics. To see these articles you just have to click on your preferred language button on the top of this page and find the related texts. For a recent broad view, read the following article.
I hope you enjoy the news.
